Kyle Fodness named NSIC Coach of the Year for women's tennis

May 12—BEMIDJI — After a historic start and an NSIC Tournament berth, Bemidji State women's tennis coach Kyle Fodness is getting his flowers.

The NSIC named Fodness as the NSIC Coach of the Year for women's tennis. He is the third coach in program history to earn the honor, the first since Reva Howe in 1999.

In his seventh season at the helm, Fodness helped the Beavers to a 10-8 record, the most wins in his tenure and the first winning season for the program since 2019. That record helped BSU earn a sixth seed in the NSIC Tournament, its first postseason appearance since 2021.

Bemidji State made history in the beginning of the season, going 6-0, the hottest start in program history.
