The Chicago Bears have a very clear need left after the NFL Draft and the first waves of free agency: edge rusher.

Montez Sweat is the top starter, but the Bears currently will have to rely on Dayo Odeyingbo and Austin Booker as their next-best edge rusher options. Adding more help is an obvious need for this team.

Kritstopher Knox of Bleacher Report named the Bears as a potential trade suitor for a $76.4 million edge rusher from the Arizona Cardinals, who would make a lot of sense to acquire for the edge rusher room.

"Could Chicago make another run at [Maxx] Crosby before the regular season? Sure, but if Josh Sweat becomes available, he might be a more-enticing budget alternative," Knox writes.

Josh Sweat of the Arizona Cardinals is possibly someone who could be on the move this offseason, as there have been rumors about Sweat's dissatisfaction with the Cardinals.

On a $76.4 million contract through the 2029 season, Sweat is not just a one-year rental, but a multi-year star on the defensive line for any team to acquire if he is actually moved.

If this former Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl champion were to be made available, then he'd be a much better trade pickup than Maxx Crosby strictly thanks to a much cheaper price tag.

Knox projected a potential return of: "Conditional 2027 4th-round pick that can become a 3rd-rounder based on statistical thresholds."

That might be a little too cheap to actually acquire Sweat, but if the package is below the two-firsts the Las Vegas Raiders have been asking for for Crosby, then Sweat would be a great trade target for Chicago.

Pairing Josh Sweat with Montez Sweat would make for a fun storyline, but it would also be a great pairing for Chicago. Last year, Sweat had 12 sacks for the Cardinals, and he would be a huge help for the Bears' defense.

If the Cardinals are willing to trade Sweat this offseason, Ryan Poles and the Bears should be all over this potential trade. Sweat would be a huge upgrade for the defense, and shouldn't cost too much either.

Knox naming the Bears as a potential trade suitor for Sweat makes a ton of sense, as he'd be the perfect addition who's a blend of both an affordable price tag and on-field upgrade for the Bears this offseason.
