Boston Red Sox rookie starting pitcher Payton Tolle went viral for multiple bloopers during his most recent outing Wednesday vs. the Baltimore Orioles.

The left-hander committed an unusual balk in the sixth inning of the victory and apparently his postgame interview about the situation had a big impact on Pittsburgh Pirates starter Jared Jones.
The Pirates right-hander was called for a balk of his own in the second inning against the Houston Astros on Thursday and cited Tolle as a reason for his mistake.
"Jared Jones blames Payton Tolle for his Balk🤣," MLB on FOX analyst Rob Friedman posted on Bluesky.
Both Jones and Tolle were otherwise terrific in their respective "balky" outings.
Boston's AL Rookie of the Year contender finished his win Wednesday allowing no runs on seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts across six innings, while Pittsburgh's former second-round pick hurled five shutout frames while surrendering only four hits and two walks with four punchouts.
