Ferran Torres may never be one of the headline stars in this Barcelona team, but his value continues to rise.
While much of the attention has focused on bigger names, the Spanish forward has quietly established himself as one of Hansi Flick’s most trusted attacking options.
That growing importance is one reason Barcelona remain confident about eventually agreeing a contract renewal with the 26-year-old, according to MARCA.
Ferran is currently the only senior Barcelona player whose contract expires in 2027 and whose renewal has not yet been finalised.
That situation is expected to be addressed this summer, though, as Deco continues to hold conversations over a potential new deal at Camp Nou.

Ferran’s importance extends beyond goals and assists. His versatility remains one of his biggest strengths.
He can operate anywhere across the front line, offering Hansi Flick tactical flexibility, although the German manager prefers using him as a striker.
That adaptability helped him become a regular contributor during the 2025/26 campaign, and his numbers back his growing influence in the team too.
Ferran finished the season with 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions, while also sharing the distinction of being La Liga’s top Spanish scorer with Lamine Yamal, on 16 league goals.
Inside the dressing room, he is also viewed as a positive presence, maintaining strong relationships with several key figures, including Pedri, Dani Olmo and Eric Garcia.
There are enough reasons for the Spaniard to merit a renewal, and Barça should be handing him one too, in an ideal world.
Europe continues to monitor the situation

At the same time, Ferran’s performances have not gone unnoticed elsewhere.
Clubs such as Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid are among those monitoring his situation.
Given his age, experience and productivity, that hardly comes as a surprise. The player, though, is currently focused on the World Cup and would not want distractions over his future.
Why Barcelona feel comfortable either way
The most fascinating aspect of this deal is Barcelona’s position.
Either way, they do not stand to lose. The club want Ferran to renew and remain part of Flick’s project. Yet they also recognise that his market value remains strong, at least for this summer..
That is why the situation is viewed internally as relatively straightforward. Renewing a proven attacker would be a success. Selling him for a major fee would also strengthen the club financially.
That said, the hope is that Barça hand him a new contract, with the club confident that the player himself is open to renewing.
After all, Ferran himself shut down the exit speculations earlier today, saying: “I don’t know anything about PSG and I’m not interested.”
