Storm Cellar: Comparing Stanford’s opening SCORING drive to Miami’s DOMINANT 3rd quarter DEFENSE

The Miami Hurricanes crushed the Stanford Cardinal 42-7 in between losses to Louisville and SMU. After the upset loss the the Louisville Cardinals, Miami came out a bit flat on defense vs. Stanford. After a Miami missed FG to open the game, the Cards marched down the field on a 12 play 74 yard scoring drive that ate up 5:23 from the clock. The drive ended in a touchdown pass from Ben Gulbranson to Caden High over Zechariah Poyser’s dome.
