The Denver Broncos have one of the more complete rosters in the NFL, opting to keep the team mostly intact this offseason in an effort to get back to where they left off last season, which nearly ended in the Super Bowl.
But looking at the roster ahead of training camp and preseason games, there are some moves the team could make to strengthen the team even further. Of course, salary cap considerations and having to release players from the 90-man roster in order to add someone from the outside must be taken into account, but if the Broncos are going to make a run this year, all bases need to be covered.
Training camp practices and preseason games will allow for further, more in-depth evaluation of what this team has and what it needs, but looking at it at this moment, these are some moves the team should still make.
Sign another inside linebacker
Perhaps the team's most glaring weakness, it's hard to imagine opening the season with Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad as the starters with the depth currently behind them. Adding a veteran option would be wise, and some examples have been given recently.
The Broncos have had a hole in the defense for many years at this position, particularly in pass coverage, and more of an effort needs to be made to cover that hole.
Extend one of the cornerbacks
The Broncos have some key players set to become free agents following the season and some of them should be considered for contract extensions as soon as possible, including cornerbacks Riley Moss and Ja'Quan McMillian.
It would make sense for the Broncos to want to see a strong season out of Moss before giving him more money, but McMillian, a player who joined the team as an undrafted free agent, has already earned that new deal. There was talk that the Broncos had begun negotiating that new deal with McMillian last month, but then that talk went away.
The Broncos should get one of them under a new contract before the season starts.
Consider a veteran tight end
The Broncos have a better tight end room now than when the 2025 season concluded, but it's a young, inexperienced group.

Big things are expected for fifth-round pick Justin Joly, but the Broncos likely don't want to throw too much at him too soon. Considering the lack of impact Evan Engram had on the offense last year, the Broncos should look for a pass-catching option with experience. Available free agents include Jonnu Smith, Darren Waller and former Sean Payton favorite Taysom Hill.
