Michigan football adds offensive lineman Lincoln Mageo

· Yahoo Sports

Michigan football had a pretty good feeling it was going to be able to add to the class back in early June, despite fighting against some West Coast schools -- including Kyle Whittingham's former Utah -- but after Lincoln Mageo visited Ann Arbor on June 5, all indications were that he would eventually become a Wolverine. However, he wasn't making his decision until July 11, so the maize and blue were going to have to wait a bit.

But it ended up being worth the wait, as it seems.

The Oceanside (Calif.) four-star interior offensive lineman made his decision on Saturday, and he spurned Utah, Arizona, and UCLA, opting to commit to Michigan football, making him the fourth offensive lineman to join the class.

Here are the commits now that Mageo is in the fold:

  • Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel four-star WR Quentin Burrell (No. 88 overall)
  • Cincinnati (Ohio) Princeton four-star CB Monsanna Torbert (No. 97 overall)
  • Kalamazoo (Mich.) Loy Norrix four-star OT Jakari Lipsey (No. 100 overall)

The scouting report from 247Sports' Gabe Brooks:

- Densely-built high school tackle who projects as a P4-caliber interior O-lineman.- Strong customer as a drive blocker in the run game.- Flashes some heavy-handed pop, particularly when traveling and when helping in pass pro.- Valuable multi-sport context includes respectable shot put numbers.- Field demeanor reflects physical play style.- Still developing consistent bend and body control.- Enhancing fluidity throughout lower half will raise the ceiling on pass-pro ability.- Projects to the P4 level as a candidate to become a run-game enforcer.

According to Rivals, Michigan has the 10th class with Mageo in the fold, and the third-ranked in the Big Ten.
