After trading Jaylen Brown in one of the more questionable trades that we've seen over the past few years, it was only fair to instantly think that the Boston Celtics had something else up their sleeves.

I don't want to say the Celtics made the worst trade of all time, because Paul George can still be a really good player and was one of the top five-10 players in the league just a few years ago, but this trade didn't really make a whole lot of sense.
Now, if Boston makes another move that helps it improve, I think it can go into next season thinking it might be better than it was a year ago.
The one trade that would make sense to make is for Trey Murphy. The latest report suggests that Boston would have to give up a huge package to bring him in, including four potential first-round picks.
“Trey Murphy, Pelicans. (Remaining contract: three years, $88 million.) It does look increasingly like Murphy will stay put. He is a favorite in NBA trade rumors, there are questions on how serious New Orleans would be about trading him. One exec says it will take a Desmond Bane-style offer (four first-round picks) to pry him from New Orleans, though that price has dropped a bit. Still, there’s been no movement yet,” Sean Deveney wrote.
I question whether any team in the NBA would be willing to move on from four first-round picks for any player at this moment, aside from a few superstars. Let's say a guy like Jayson Tatum became available.
Of course, the Celtics would get four first-round picks in return for him. Regarding above-average players but non-stars like Murphy, however, I just think those days are behind us, even if they happened recently with deals like Mikal Bridges and Desmond Bane.
