He scored 13 goals and added 16 assists in 41 appearances last season. His finest moment came when he scored the later winner in the FA Youth Cup final as City beat Manchester United 2-1 to claim silverware. Heskey primarily plays on the left wing and his speed, eye for goal and dribbling ability make him a dangerous player in the final third. It will be fascinating to see how he develops playing in Germany with FC Köln.

Lee Davey has reported for TalkSport that the deal that saw Heskey sign for FC Köln could be worth up to £8 million. Furthermore, Davey reports that Manchester City have inserted buy-back and sell-on clauses in the deal. Heskey has signed a contract with tje Bundesliga side which runs until 2030 and includes an option to extend the contract until 2031.

Reigan Heskey has reached a critical stage in his young career. He has proven that he is ready to play at a higher level than Manchester City’s youth system.
