Watch Texas A&M junior DE's impressive lift during 'Max Week'
· Yahoo Sports
Texas A&M's 2026 roster is chock-full of NFL-level talent, starting with junior wide receiver Mario Craver, while nearly every one of the 17 offseason transfer portal additions is in line to earn starting or key rotational jobs, including former Northwestern edge Anto Saka, who is already a favorite among NFL scouting circles.
Among the players from the 2025 roster, exactly 65% return, and while Anto Saka is slated to start as the Aggies' big defensive end, rising sophomore Marco Jones is nearly guaranteed to star at the Jack position as the hybrid linebacker/Edge where Cashius Howell thrived during his final two seasons with the Aggies.

Behind Jones, former Georgia transfer Samuel M'Pemba is back for a second season after seldom playing last fall, appearing in just a handful of games, with one tackle and his first career sack. Despite barely seeing the field, M'Pemba is expected to serve in a much more significant role this season as Jones' primary backup and is internally regarded as one of the fastest and most athletic defenders on the roster.
Apparently, strength isn't an issue either for the 6'3", 250-plus-pound pass rusher, who, during "Max Week" with Texas A&M S&C coach Tommy Moffitt, performed a Power Clean lift, completing one rep of what looked to be 370 pounds, which, for any football player, is a highly impressive weight.
Strength is just one trait that matters when it comes to a player's improvement on the field, and while it remains to be seen if Samuel M'Pemba will take the next step as a rotational pass rusher, it's clear that he's been putting the work in this offseason.
