It's no secret that there's a heated quarterback competition brewing between Cleveland Browns players Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. As the season gets closer, there's no way this competition is going to die down, either. It's just now heating up.

Watson is coming back after a long period of injury, and he's trying to prove that he's worth the big contract the Browns gave him when they thought he'd be their future. Meanwhile, Sanders is entering his second year in the NFL and trying to show that he's the guy who can lead this team down the road.

Now, Watson is opening up about how he feels back on the field, and it's a bit of a warning to Sanders that, yes, he's ready.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson sees the preseason as an opportunity to show his stuff

On Saturday, Watson spoke with reporters from the Browns' training camp. He said that he's excited to have the "great opportunity" to show the world what he can do in the preseason.

"I haven't played football in a long time, so for me, it doesn't matter how long I play, how many games I play," he told reporters, according to a report from ESPN. "I just want to play football."

He added, "A lot of people wrote me off and said that I wouldn't be playing football again after two Achilles injuries. So, I'm proving that wrong, and I'm proving myself right. So it's a great opportunity for me to get out there and showcase what I can do."

Of course, Sanders sees it as an opportunity, too. This final decision certainly hasn't been decided yet.
