Buffalo Bills WR Joshua Palmer could surprise in 2026

Fans of the Buffalo Bills know that there will always be plenty of conversation around the wide receiver position. The team has one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Josh Allen, but there always seems to be room for conversation about whether the team has surrounded him with enough weapons.

One of those weapons in 2025 was supposed to be wide receiver Joshua Palmer, who was the major investment made by president of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane. Things got off to a decent start in the Week 1 victory over the Baltimore Ravens, when Palmer had five receptions for 61 yards. Unfortunately, things seemed to sputter a bit after that — where injuries and some inconsistent play had Palmer finish the season with 22 receptions for 303 yards.
The former third-round pick has been a bit of an afterthought this offseason, with most of the conversation focused on DJ Moore and Keon Coleman. Palmer was dealing with some nagging injuries during OTAs and mandatory minicamp, which didn’t help with the growing frustration from some fans (myself included). Conversations on social media questioned Palmer’s spot on the roster this season, with many speculating if a Brandin Cooks’ return was going to happen soon.
While I feel that these questions were warranted and I could understand the frustration, Palmer reminded everyone on Saturday that he’s still one of the most-talented receivers on Buffalo’s roster. Anthony Prohaska from Cover 1 noted the following on Saturday:
“JoshPalmer is the best route runner amongst the Bills WRs. If he stays healthy, he’ll be a useful part of the rotation. And addling DJ Moore allows Palmer to operate in roles and spaces that are better for his skillset.“
Similar sentiments were shared by those in attendance, with the official Bills social media accounts sharing video footage of a highlight play from Allen to Palmer. While one practice doesn’t mean that everything will work out for Palmer this season, it does serve as a reminder that Palmer could be a valuable member of Buffalo’s offense.
