ESPN's Shams Charania reported that it is a three-year extension worth $52.2 million. Charania also added that it is a fully guaranteed contract. Marshall is now under contract with the Mavericks through the 2029-2030 season.

The 28-year-old went undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft. He then spent the first five years of his career with the New Orleans Pelicans before landing with the Mavericks ahead of the 2024-2025 season.

Last year, Marshall played in 74 games for Dallas, starting 47 of them. He averaged a career-high 15.2 points per game along with 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 29.5 minutes per game.

The Mavericks have had a busy offseason. Dallas acquired F Santi Aldama from the Memphis Grizzlies in a deal and signed C Moussa Cisse to a contract. The franchise also added former No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks.

Dallas is ensuring that it has better depth for the future. Marshall is expected to retain his role off the bench, but he can be counted on to start a few games to rest other players if need be.

The Mavericks finished last season with a 26-56 record, missing out on the playoffs. It wasn't how the Cooper Flagg era was supposed to start in Dallas, but the franchise has been making solid moves to bolster the lineup for next season and beyond.
