In this series, I'll be performing an instant mock draft out of each pick slot for 12-team leagues with default half-PPR scoring. Finally, we’ve gotten to picking a team from the No. 12 spot. Below is the full roster, plus key takeaways.

This is the end of the line for our Instant Mock Draft series for 2026. So for the final mock, we sort of just used a culmination of everything we've learned/observed throughout the mock draft process and offseason. I tried to mix in picks and favorites of all our Yahoo analysts (Matt Harmon's favorite picks in each round of a 12-team league were very fresh in my mind when I did this team). We went with a pretty balanced approach and I tried to grab a few players I had been overlooking throughout this series.

King Henry was Harmon's favorite pick in Round 2. I had the 12-13 turn, so technically he was my second-round pick, though I did reach for him a bit at Pick 13. That's something you'll always need to do when drafting from a late-round spot in the first. I actually love having the 12th pick, knowing that I can address two spots without anyone vulturing one of my picks. You also have the added notion of throwing ADP out the door and having more conviction, taking the players you want rather than the ones who necessarily make sense.

Lamb was another player I hadn't been actively targeting in this range, looking to stock up on elite RBs early in my drafts. But the Cowboys are a carnival team, per Scott Pianowski, a fun offense with a potentially leaky defense. I also think Lamb should bounce back after missing some time due to injury last season. At his peak in 2023, he was the WR1 in fantasy. That's the type of upside you can get despite Lamb being selected as the WR5 on Yahoo.

Henry is more of a floor play while the rest of my starting lineup is riddled with upside (Williams, Etienne, BTJ and the Caleb-Loveland stack).

Speaking of Chicago, the Bears offense is another carnival team to get a piece of for 2026. I think Williams has the potential to take a big step in Year 3 and has QB1 fantasy upside. Through the fantasy season (Weeks 1-17) in 2025, Williams finished as the QB8 with 19.2 fantasy points per game. He also had a sub-60% completion percentage, a stat that should improve as Williams gets more comfortable in Ben Johnson's offense. I think Caleb gets to over 4,000 passing yards with 30+ touchdowns and some spike-rushing weeks.

Pairing Williams with Loveland gives me a nice stack which could be a potential league-winner. A few seasons ago a Burrow-Chase stack is what vaulted me to a fantasy title. This strategy can be risky but it can also pay dividends. If both players take a big leap, that can be what lifts me to fantasy glory. If we start at Loveland's breakout Week 9 in 2025 and chart him the rest of the season, he finishes as the TE2 in total fantasy points and TE5 in FPPG. Even if the entire 2026 isn't Loveland's second half of last season, he should still have a very safe floor, plus the upside to take TE1 honors.

Overall for this team, I targeted a lot of fun offenses I think will finish among the top-10 this season.

BTJ isn't a reserve but he feels like one of the most overlooked and forgotten about players in fantasy. That can do it to ya when you ruin so many hopes and dreams the previous season. Thomas went from a rookie breakout to a consensus second-round pick in 2025 to an absolute bust. Despite a lot of mouths to feed in Jacksonville, I like taking a chance on BTJ to land somewhere in the middle of his first two seasons. How many players being taken as WR3s have had the type of season Thomas did as a rookie? Not many.

If BTJ doesn't work out, I like the depth I have at the WR position. Coker and Wicks were favorite late-round options of Harmon's in his piece from Thursday. Coker (and Robinson) are the only two players on what we would consider bad offenses for 2026. But Coker balled out for 9-134-1 in that near playoff win versus the Rams last season (people don't forget!).

Wicks never truly got a chance to spread his wings in Green Bay. He now has a chance to be the WR2 behind DeVonta Smith in a revamped Philly offense. Wicks has the best chance to stick as a viable play this season among pass-catchers behind Smith. Harvey is someone Joel Smyth has changed his mind on over the course of camp/preseason.

If you're in a league with multiple IR spots, go ahead and target guys like Charbonnet and Jordyn Tyson. You may lose a few players to injury before they're ready to return. You may not. Either way, it gives you another piece to fit into the puzzle or a player you can flip to get stronger at a position of weakness.

You can never be too prepared for drafting in fantasy football. Imagine me sending you that "the more you know" GIF right now. That way, when your pick comes up, you already know in the back of your mind who should be available. From there, it's parsing through all the analysis to come to a conclusion on which players you value the most. Trust your gut, don't panic. You got this! It's only fantasy football, right? … Right?? And the draft is only the first step. We all know fantasy football titles aren't won on draft day, they're won by being proactive on the waiver wire and checking back to Yahoo Fantasy for all your in-season needs (I wasn't done with the plugging, gotcha).
