MCALESTER — McAlester scored two touchdowns in the final seven minutes, including the game-winner with 3:02 remaining, to rally past Ada 47-40 in a wild finish to the annual rivalry game Friday night.

The Cougars, who piled up well over 500 yards of total offense, scored with 8:23 left to take a 40-33 lead. But the Buffaloes answered with a 54-yard touchdown pass at the 7:32 mark to knot the score at 40-40.

McAlester then marched 75 yards in six plays for the winning touchdown.

Ada will enter district play at 0-3, while the Buffaloes improved to 1-2.

It was the third-highest scoring game in the long series between the two rivals.
