Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick left the game during the first quarter with a groin injury.

Fitzpatrick went down during Tennessee’s opening offensive possession. He walked under his own power before entering the medical tent.

The Jets later announced that Fitzpatrick is questionable to return.

Fitzpatrick’s early exit could be a significant concern for New York’s defense. The veteran safety joined the Jets during the offseason after the team acquired him from the Miami Dolphins.

He signed a three-year, $40 million contract following the trade. Fitzpatrick is also a three-time All-Pro and entered the season as a key piece of New York’s revamped secondary.

Andre Cisco has stepped in for Fitzpatrick following his departure. The Jets will now wait for further evaluation before determining whether their starting safety can return.

Further updates on Minkah Fitzpatrick’s condition will continue to be monitored throughout the game.
