Pittsburgh Steelers RB Rico Dowdle carried eight times for 15 yards and caught two passes for six yards in a Week 1 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

As far as the numbers were concerned, Dowdle was outplayed by RB Jaylen Warren, who amassed 73 total yards of offense to Dowdle’s 21. However, Dowdle is coming off consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons and played for Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy in Dallas in 2024, so that could factor into his playing time going forward. Right now, Dowdle is a flex option at best until the running back split becomes more defined.
