Angel Reese has continued to level up her game as the playoffs approach. The Atlanta Dream secured a 95-84 win over the New York Liberty on Monday night at the Barclays Center.

After the win, the WNBA world showered Reese with much-deserved praise after the three-time All-Star’s impressive performance helped bolster the Dream’s top-four seeding ambitions.

Fans Rally Behind Angel Reese After Double-Double in Win Over Liberty

Since returning with a gold medal from the FIBA World Cup, Reese has carried the positive momentum to the closing stretch of the regular season, averaging 23.7 points and 10 rebounds while shooting nearly 66% from the floor.

Against the Liberty, Reese finished with another double-double, recording 18 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 7-for-14 from the field, and providing 2 assists with 1 block.

“Unstoppable,” HoopCentral posted, highlighting her stellar production in recent games.

As the race for the top-four seeding heats up, many users cite Reese’s output to make a case for her MVP contention, as one user wrote, “These are MVP numbers, man.”

“That game where she missed that game-winning layup has awakened a sleeping beast!!!” another remarked, pointing to Reese’s blunder in the clash against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever back in August.

“Angel Reese is by far the best player on the Atlanta Dream,” Jaime Lardis commented.

Reese’s improvement was visible not just on offense but also in her defense. In the fourth quarter, with 1:59 remaining, the Dream star blocked Breanna Stewart as the latter went down the stretch.

While trying to get the ball back from the Dream forward, Stewart was called for a technical foul, much to her exasperation.

One WNBA observer even advocated for Reese’s inclusion in the Most Improved Player award conversation: “Lowkey should be in MIP talks too😎.”

More fans pointed to the former Chicago Sky forward’s trajectory, as one user asserted, “It’s safe to say she was a late bloomer.”

“Was FIBA her coming-out party?” another posted.

“Somebody forgot to tell the defense she’s allowed to be stopped 😭,” one fan exclaimed.

Besides Reese, Jordin Canada and Rhyne Howard chipped in with valuable contributions, with Canada recording 19 points and 9 assists, while Howard put up 16 points to go with 6 rebounds.

Stewart’s 27-point, 14-rebound effort, unfortunately, fell short of stopping a red-hot Dream roster that is now 1.5 games ahead of the Fever and will prepare for a rematch with New York on Wednesday.
