USC receiver room has provided real depth for Jayden Maiava

USC Football was without their freshman phenom Trent Mosley, and for parts of this game, his absence was evident. The Trojans' offense was missing something. His absence, however, did open the door for other guys to get more of a look. Sophomore Corey Simms got a chance to show more of what he is capable of.
My unsung hero for Saturday's game is Corey Simms. In the first few games, Corey Simms has managed to get at least 2 catches. He always makes something happen with his touches, whether that is picking up a first down or getting 10+ yards. Simms against Rutgers gave the Trojans their first big play, showing that he can be a home run hitter too. His ball skills were on full display for his 52-yard touchdown.

Simms finished the game against Rutgers with 4 catches, 72 yards, and a touchdown, which was his first touchdown of the season. He has consistently shown that he can make plays and be a reliable target. With Mosley out, Simms should get more targets, and he could ensure this offense still has enough talent to hang with Oregon and other juggernauts.
Simms brought that explosiveness that the Trojans' offense was missing for a good part of the game on his touchdown play. He is a receiver to watch these next few weeks if Mosley continues to miss time.
