No. 4 Ohio State travels to face No. 5 Indiana in Saturday’s Big Noon Kickoff in the hopes of usurping its place in the rankings, as well as its perch atop the Big Ten. The Hoosiers ended a 37-year run without a win over the Buckeyes in Indianapolis last year and now aim to replicate that achievement at Memorial Stadium.
The winner of this matchup will have pride of place as the Big Ten frontrunner entering the second-half stretch this season. Ohio State already gave up its undefeated record to Texas in Week 2 but has looked convincing in every other contest, while Indiana just about extended its streak to 6-0 after two fourth-quarter touchdowns saw it pull off a 20-17 win at Nebraska last Saturday.
It’s not the only close call the Hoosiers have had this season, having edged Northwestern in similar circumstances three weeks ago. This rematch of last year’s Big Ten Championship will separate the boys from the men, however, as head coach Curt Cignetti looks to reinforce the notion that 2025 was no fluke for the program.
All eyes are on star Buckeyes receiver Jeremiah Smith as the junior ace seeks to add to his 11 touchdowns, having scored in all but one of Ohio State’s games so far this season. On the other side of the field, Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover is enjoying a mercurial year with 17 touchdown passes and not a single interception to date, with the dynamic duo of Charlie Becker (eight) and Nick Marsh (six) vacuuming up the majority of those.
