A total of eight Lenawee County football teams earned postseason berths thanks to their regular season efforts. Three teams will host opening round games: Adrian (Division 4), Clinton (Division 6), and Hudson (Division 8). The first round features two intra-county matchups as Hudson hosts Sand Creek and Adrian welcomes Tecumseh for a highly anticipated rivalry rematch.

Here are the Lenawee County playoff pairings for the 2026 postseason, which begins this Friday.

Division 4

Region 3

District 2

Lansing Sexton (8-1) at Dearborn Divine Child (8-1)

Tecumseh (6-3) at Adrian (8-1)

Outlook – For the first time ever, Adrian and Tecumseh will square off in the postseason. The Maples got the best of the Indians in Week 6 in an instant classic, scoring a last-second 2-point conversion to steal a 15-14 win on the road. Both sides will look to end their rivals’ seasons as they face off on the gridiron once more in a highly anticipated rematch.

Division 6

Region 3

District 2

Adrian Madison (6-3) at Belding (7-2)

Kent City (7-2) at Olivet (6-3)

Outlook – Madison earns a playoff berth for the second-straight season. The Trojans recorded their most regular-season wins since 2009 under first-year head coach Bill Willharms. They will look for their first playoff victory since 2020 as they open the playoffs on the road against Belding.

Region 4

District 1

Dearborn Heights Robichaud (5-4) at Detroit Edison (8-1)

Clawson (6-3) at Clinton (8-1)

Outlook – No. 5 Clinton will host the opening round of the playoffs for the fifth consecutive season. The Redwolves are eyeing another long playoff run after falling to Schoolcraft in the state semifinals in 2025. That path will begin against Clawson. Clinton’s lone loss this season came in Week 6 against Division 8 powerhouse and county rival Hudson. The Redwolves responded with three straight wins over playoff teams in Ida, Madison and Monroe Jefferson to close the regular season.

Division 8

Region 3

District 1

Sand Creek (5-4) at Hudson (8-1)

Fowler (6-3) at Manchester (7-2)

Outlook – No. 2 Hudson is looking to redeem itself after falling short in last season’s state championship game. The Tigers will start their postseason journey by hosting the Aggies. Two of Lenawee County’s top running backs will go toe to toe as Hudson’s Beckett Campbell and Sand Creek’s AJ Murdico will look to lead their respective offenses to a first-round win. The Tigers could be in store for a rematch of last season’s regional finals with No. 7 Springport on the other side of the bracket.

8-player Football

Division 2

Region 3

Lenawee Christian (4-5) at Mendon (9-0)

Marcellus (6-3) at Litchfield (8-1)

Outlook – The Cougars claimed the final playoff spot in 8-player football despite entering Week 9 out of the field and finishing the regular season with a loss. Lenawee Christian’s reward is facing No. 1 Mendon — for the second straight week. The Cougars and Hornets set an 8-player record by combining for 153 points in Week 9 in a 96-57 Mendon win. Lenawee Christian will look for a better defensive showing as it travels to familiar territory for the opening round.

Division 2

Region 4

Peck (6-3) at Bay City All Saints (8-1)

Britton Deerfield (7-2) at Kinde North Huron (7-2)

Outlook – The Patriots nearly had enough playoff points to host the first round but will instead travel to face Kinde North Huron to start the postseason. Britton Deerfield finished the regular season with five straight wins to earn a playoff berth for the third consecutive season.
