With the Green Bay Packers playing the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night, the team is dealing with injuries to key players, such as wide receiver Matthew Golden. As Golden deals with two injuries ahead of the Packers’ matchup against the Panthers, head coach Matt LaFleur discusses what could be the 23-year-old’s availability for Thursday.
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, LaFleur would be asked whether Golden will be with Green Bay for the game, as the coach says that he does “hope so” and that the team is “still kind of working through it.”
“Matt LaFleur on if they’ll have Matthew Golden on Thursday: ‘I sure hope so. We’re still kind of working through it.’ Golden (shoulder/foot) has been an estimated DNP twice this week,” Schneidman wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

As shown by the injury report from the Packers on the website, Golden has not practiced for the last two days after Tuesday’s absence, as he is dealing with shoulder and foot injuries. So far this season, Golden has been productive for Green Bay in the passing game, catching 34 passes for 512 yards and three touchdowns.
Golden does lead the Packers with 68 targets, but Christian Watson is No. 1 on Green Bay with 595 yards and six touchdowns, as the two receivers have been dangerous. Especially for quarterback Jordan Love, who has 1,958 yards (second in the NFL) to go along with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions.
At any rate, Golden’s practice status on Wednesday will be critical to see if he plays on Thursday night for the Packers against the Panthers as the team looks to be 5-3.
