Hunter Greene involved in trade rumors, per former Reds GM Jim Bowden
· Yahoo Sports
Former Cincinnati Reds general manager Jim Bowden wrote for The Athletic about trade rumors involving Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene.
"There continue to be rumors that the Reds will shop ace Hunter Greene, although they've never confirmed that," Bowden wrote. "When you have two No. 1 starters like the Reds do with Chase Burns and Greene, I'm not sure it makes sense to trade one of them. I'd much rather have them be at the top of my rotation in 2027. However, they could be concerned about Greene's injury history and the fact that he's signed through 2028. He's certainly worth monitoring."

Greene had surgery March 11 to remove bone chips and spurs from his right elbow.
Greene struggled July 4 against Baltimore in his first start of this season, but looked dominant while striking out 12 in seven shutout innings July 10 against the Cubs.
In 19 starts in 2025, Greene was 7-4 with a 2.76 ERA and 0.938 WHIP.
Earlier in July, Bowden told Foul Territory the team should be a seller at the trade deadline and suggested four candidates the Reds should try to deal as they look to contend in 2027.
